How to Uninstall Coldboot Haxchi (CBHC)

As of January 2022 Coldboot Haxchi has been made obsolete and is no longer the recommended method to softmod your Wii U.

In this very short guide I will be showing you how to safely remove Coldboot Haxchi (CBHC) from your Wii U, this will allow us to install the superior Tiramisu softmod.

To uninstall Coodboot Haxchi, launch the Homebrew Launcher on your Wii U and choose the CBCH app. Tap load to start the app.

Select the title that has Coldboot Haxchi installed and press A. Read the warning and press B to remove CBHC.

Now back the Wii U’s menu, select System Settings, Navigate to Data Management. Select Copy/Move/Delete Data and select the System Memory.

Locate the ‘DONT TOUCH ME’ app with the exclamation mark, select it and choose to delete it.

With the app now deleted. restart your console and you’ll notice the CBHC loading message is now gone on startup and we are completely free of Coldboot Haxchi and ready to Install Tiramisu.

I’ve got a full guide on how to install Tiramisu to your Wii U here.

    1. Tiramisu boots a little faster than CBHC but in terms of functionality they are pretty similar. Tiramisu will free up the DS game required for CBHC and is a little more modular in design. For example, you can choose to install bloopair which gives boottime support for a ton of bluetooth controllers etc.

However, if you are happy with CBHC there’s no real reason to upgrade 🙂

    2. I need some assistance. I thought I deleted Haxchi but still had saved data. And had already deleted homebrew launcher. Any suggestions on starting my mod over with a clean start?
